Quick Start Guide

Here are a few tips to get started.

Login here

·       Filling out your profile will help people get to know you. Uploading a profile picture and a bio that show your personality is a great way to ensure you make a good impression in the forum.

Customize your profile settings. Start by finding "My Account" in your profile. From here, you can set up how you want to receive emails from the community, how much of your profile you want visible to others, the signature area that appears under your discussion posts, and more. If you have any questions about what a certain setting means, please get in touch with us here.

You are auto subscribed to Daily digests for most communities but you are able to change this setting to receive consolidated digests if you prefer. If you subscribe to consolidated digests you will receive an email each day or week summarizing topics in your forum.

Connect with colleagues and experts by heading to Directories in the top navigation bar. Once you identify a person with whom you’d like to connect, tap the Add as Contact button to send a contact request.

What now? It's time to join the conversation!

Posting a discussion:

From the top right of your homepage, you can click create, and then Discussion thread to add a post to any of your communities.

You can also click Start New Thread when you are on the discussion page of any community you are part of.

Simply click Reply to the right of a discussion post to respond to it.

You will have the option to choose between a Question (requiring a definitive answer) or a Discussion (open-ended) whenever you start a new thread. They will display a different icon depending on what type of thread they are:

Questions will be a thread with a specific answer:

If your question receives the correct resolution or answer, you will be able mark that reply using the "Mark as Best Answer" button.  That answer will then appear at the top of the thread and will be marked as Best Answer. This indicates that you are no longer looking for responses to your question, though others can still join in.

When this is the case and a question has been resolved, it will also show an "answered" icon from the threads view:

Discussions will be open-ended threads for ongoing conversations:

We recommend selecting “Open-ended Discussion” if you are not sure what to select.
